Fashion On Screen Plc announces new film project

Fashion On Screen Plc (“FOS” or the “Company”), the film and entertainment company, has agreed with writer/director Deva Palmier and producer Melissa Parmenter of Revolution Films to produce a new film written by Deva Palmier with George Jeffrie and directed by Deva Palmier entlted Finding Clive.

Finding Clive is a romantic comedy which will appeal to an international audience which in previous years has enjoyed The Big Sick, LaLaLand, Four Weddings And A Funeral. So far, cast members are slated to include Shirley Henderson (Stan and Ollie, Bridget Jones Diary, Harry Potter) and Roger Allam (The Hippopotamus, Endeavour, The Thick of It).

About Deva Palmier

Deva Palmier is a writer/director who trained as an actress at Guildhall School of Music and Drama with a BP Scholarship and toured across Canada with her own theatre company. A few years later she went on to spend the summer studying filmmaking at Tisch School of the Arts, NYU, on a William and Eva Fox Fellowship. Her short films have been selected for many awards including a Silver Plaque at Chicago International Film Festival and joint runner-up for a BBC New Filmmakers award, Best Trailer Award and an Honorable Mention Award at LA Underground Film Forum; a Platinum Award for Best Trailer at Mindfield Film Festival, Los Angeles; Best Trailer Award at Creation International Film Festival 2017. Her Short film Fishy is distributed by Shorts International, can be found on iTunes. In 2006 she was mentored by Gurinder Chadha for a year on the Guiding Lights scheme, which inspired her to set up the ICA Lab – a script development lab where she began to develop her feature film scripts, Baby, Finding Clive and The Garden. In 2017 she was awarded a distinction, studying an MA in feature filmmaking at Bath Spa University, where she focused on developing Finding Clive and made an award winning teaser trailer.

About Melissa Parmenter

Known for her extensive work as a producer in the film industry, Melissa Parmenter began her collaboration with director Michael Winterbottom over 13 years ago, Producing many of Winterbottom’s films including all three entries in the critically acclaimed Trip trilogy – The Trip (2010); The Trip to Italy (2014) and The Trip to Spain (2017). Parmenter also produced Winterbottom’s Paul Raymond biopic, The Look of Love, starring Steve Coogan, Anna Friel, Imogen Poots and Tamsin Egerton; the prison inmate drama Everyday, starring John Simm and Shirley Henderson; Trishna, an adaptation of Thomas Hardy’s Tess of the D’Urbervilles set in India, starring Riz Ahmed and Freida Pinto and tabloid murder story The Face of an Angel, starring Daniel Brühl, Kate Beckinsale and Cara Delevingne. An accomplished composer and pianist, Parmenter, who graduated from Durham University in music, has scored a number of films, including Winterbottom’s Genova (2008), starring Colin Firth and The Killer Inside Me (2010), with Casey Affleck, Jessica Alba and Kate Hudson. She also wrote the score for Simon Aboud’s film Comes A Bright Day featuring Timothy Spall, Imogen Poots and Craig Roberts. Furthermore, Melissa Parmenter has composed and performed solo piano works for several feature films, including Michael Winterbottom’s A Mighty Heart, starring Angelina Jolie; 9 Songs with Kieran O’Brien and Margo Stilley and Topspot, directed by visual artist, Tracey Emin (2004).
