Fashion On Screen Plc plans new horror series

Fashion On Screen Plc (“FOS” or the “Company”), the film and entertainment company, has announced that it intends to produce a series of horror films working with top industry producers John Paul Chapple and Laurence Jones of The Horror Lab.

The collaboration is slated to begin production in 2019 with The Scream Room written by Jared Kelly and directed by Emily Greenwood (who directed the award-winning Cold Warrior). Described as an intense and terrifying story about a woman trying to hold her young family together in the face of a powerful and mysterious threat, it is budgeted at £750,000 with cast to be announced shortly.

Also under option with The Horror Lab is the provisionally entitled The Becoming, a feminist vampire film written and directed by Jessie Kirby and produced by Kirsten Stoddart, who are enjoying ongoing awards success with their short, For Summer, through their company Brickworks Media.

Nevern Johns, Managing Director of FOS, said: “We have been looking for some time to open up a second level of film projects to sit alongside our major films but with more accessible budgets. The horror genre is a longstanding successful one within the international film industry and I am therefore delighted that we will be working with John Paul and Laurence who between them share a huge knowledge and experience of the genre. I see this as the first of many successful projects working with this team.”

John Paul Chapple of The Horror Lab said: “We are delighted to be collaborating with FOS Plc with its unique approach to production and financing. The Scream Room is the first of a series of titles that will establish our brand and give us all the opportunity to work with some of the most exciting and diverse talent in the industry.”
